Universal Avionics FMS Family with LP/LPV Monitor

Since introducing the industry’s first multi-sensor Flight Management System (FMS) (the UNS-1) in 1982, Universal Avionics has continually taken the industry forward with a pilot-focused vision of flight management. Today’s Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS)-capable FMSs build upon the company’s popular market-proven product design, offering more advanced features and interfaces, and a growth path to meet the requirements of the future.  Our Multi-Missions Management System (MMMS) incorporates the advanced technology, system design, features and capabilities included in our SBAS-enabled FMSs with special interfaces and the ability to fly six distinct patterns. As the primary means of situational awareness for the aircraft crew, the EFI-890H Advanced Flight Display is classed as a Type I – Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Navigation Display (ND). It provides display of all primary flight information normally associated with standard ADI and HSI presentations as well as altitude, flight guidance and speed information. The EFI-890H has been qualified to the rigorous vibration profile testing of RTCA/DO-160F Environmental Standards for maximum performance during mission operations.  The MFD-890H incorporates this hardware in a single stand-alone Multi-Function Display configuration. The MFD-640 interfaces with a variety of Weather Radar, Terrain Awareness and Warning Systems (TAWS) and traffic avoidance systems, as well as onboard video, Vision-1™ Synthetic Vision, Flight Management Systems (FMS), uplinked weather graphics and lightning detection systems. Its compact size and extensive interface capability makes it a versatile instrument for installation in a host of aircraft platforms, and adds valuable functionality for the operator. Enhancing pilot situational awareness, the Vision-1 Synthetic Vision System provides an advanced dynamic terrain image integrated with the flight plan and projected flight path of the aircraft. The “Egocentric” pilot’s view provides the pilot with a perspective as if looking out the flight deck window. Developed in full compliance with DO-178B Level C guidelines and FANS 1/A+ standards, the UniLink UL-800/801 Communications Management Unit (CMU) accommodates the expansion of datalink services into more streamlined applications of airline and air traffic operations such as Controller Pilot Datalink Communications (CPDLC) and Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B). The Radio Control Unit (RCU) provides a centralized, easy-to-use control interface, with radio tuning and mode control function. Consolidating multiple radio control heads into a single, advanced controller provides savings in space and weight, while increasing efficiency and adding sophisticated radio tuning capabilities to the flight deck. With five model options, the Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Flight Data Recorders (FDR) offer an independent as well as a combination CVR/FDR recording capability. The CVR/FDR’s unique Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS) option provides a backup power source in the event of a main power failure and allows the aircraft to meet the FAA’s latest RIPS requirement without the additional size, weight and complexity of an external RIPS unit.
