Our Universal Cockpit Display (UCD) is a
TSO’d (C-113) advanced Electronic Flight Bag system incorporating DO-178B
Level
C certified software which provides the pilot with a supplementary electronic
display integrated with flight deck instrumentation. Its touchscreen interface
literally places a wealth of information at the pilot's fingertips. The compact
terminal (UCDT-II) incorporates an 8.4-inch display that provides the pilot
access to electronic aeronautical charts, checklists and video sources. Features
include a hide-toolbar function to maximize the display area plus two
operator-defined zoom levels to optimize readability.
The UCD JeppView(tm) electronic chart database is provided on CD-ROM through
subscription directly from Jeppesen. The terminal charts (airport, departure,
arrival and approach) and associated NOTAMs are loaded into solid-state memory
in the remote-mounted UCD Computer (UCDC). Departure and arrival airport
information supplied from the Flight Management System (FMS) will prompt the
display of the associated terminal charts. Manual searches are quickly
accomplished through entry of airport name or ICAO identifier. The FMS aircraft
position is depicted with a green donut overlay on geo-referenced approach and
airport charts, the latter increasing situational awareness even while taxiing. |
