Tucson, Arizona – June 17, 2005 - Universal Avionics is pleased to announce its plans to retrofit their EFI-890R 8.9-inch Flat Panel Displays, replacing Bendix EFIS-10 display systems currently interfaced with the existing KFC-400 flight guidance system. Stevens Aviation, an Authorized Universal Avionics Dealer, will perform the retrofit work on the King Air B-300 at their facility in Nashville, TN. Plans for certification will include two EFI-890R displays and a three display option will be made available. Universals Avionics ability to integrate with the existing KFC-400 flight guidance system and other on board systems, will keep costs down. The system will include a Universal Avionics UNS-1L Super Flight Management System, TAWS System with Class A or Class B choices and an optional Vision-1 Synthetic Vision.
The EFI-890R is designed to interface with the existing KDC-481 air-data system and will meet RVSM requirements by interfacing with the J2/CIC digital air-data-computers. Completion of the first aircraft is expected near the end of October 2005.
