EGNOS Funding Available

Be sure to take advantage of the available grant money for regional, commercial, business (corporate), general and rotorcraft aviation operators to equip with Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) technology for the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS).

The following are some frequently asked questions regarding the grant money:

Who is eligible?

Member European States and international organizations, joint undertakings, and public or private undertakings, or bodies established in an EU Member State.

What is the application process?

Applicants must take the following steps to submit their application:

  1. Identify the relevant call and priority online
  2. Review the call documentation and prepare your application
  3. Contact a financial institution
  4. Submit your application online

What are the active dates?

There are two deadlines for submission:

  • First cut-off: 14 July 2017 (17:00:00 Brussels time)
  • Second cut-off: 30 November 2017 (17:00:00 Brussels time)

The results of the 2017 CEF Transport Blending MAP Call will be announced in early 2018.

How much funding is available and what is the co-financing rate?

For the indicative budget, up to €8 million is available for “airborne infrastructure that support the use of SBAS, in particular the EGNOS.” The co-financing rate is 20% of the eligible costs.

What is the size of submitted proposals?

The total eligible costs of the projects shall be in excess of EUR 10 million.
